Run

I felt pretty good on the run, but Rob struggled a bit with lead-legs. We live in the foothills, so no matter which direction you head, you have steep and/or gradual hills to content with. We knocked out 4 miles while watching the sunrise and enjoying the non-rainy morning.

Transition 1

About 5 minutes and we were out on the bikes.

Bike

It was a slow, exhausted ride. The loop we chose starts with about 3-miles of very steep uphills and we were both climbing in our lowest gear almost ride away. Lots of fatigue in our legs.

Ironman in One Week - Last bike ride

The sun actually made an appearance today, so it made for a pretty ride and we finished the bike! Lots of high-fiving took place.

Victories

Finishing the bike! When this whole thing started, I really didn’t think it was going to happen. Sure, it was a super slow time overall, but it doesn’t matter. The whole point was to do this as a challenge, and I would say we did pretty darn well for ourselves.

I have to say, again, I don’t know how Ironmen and women do this. The training alone is exhausting and then they do incredible miles on race day. I am in awe.

Grumbles

Nothing really. We just have 4 miles to knock out tomorrow morning and we are D-O-N-E!
