Run

Our early call started with a 2 mile run before we hopped on the bike for a while. The next 1.8 miles of our total running miles for the day came when we ran to and from the pool. It was quick 2 miles this morning and a very slow .85ish to and from the pool. Our legs were beat!

Ironman in one week - Thursday Run

Transition 1

A bit of food, stretching, and getting the bikes ready to go. We were out the door in about 10 minutes.

Bike

Another 32 mile ride! We knew we needed to either put up some big numbers today, or do 3 separate 14-15 milers. We opted for big numbers today and did the same loop from Tuesday. We cut 7 minutes off our time and really enjoyed the ride.

Ironman in One week - Bike Path 2

After about 26 miles though, my legs and butt were not happy. But, it’s done and we are now sitting at 99 miles! A 13 mile ride hardly seems worth it at this point (because it’s so short).

Transition 2

We hung around the house for 2 hours doing a bit of work while waiting for lap swim time to start. There was foam rolling. And there was a bit of swearing.

Swim

It was finally sunny enough to swim outside! And who knew, our pool does $3 Thursdays. Score! We jogged to the pool, which was a nice way to add on some milage. It felt like we were rushing our laps because a large thunderhead was making it’s way our direction and we were worried they would close the pool. It helped us swim our fastest section yet!

I have to say it was much more pleasant and refreshing to swim laps at an outdoor pool.

Victories

Being at 99 bike miles! We honestly didn’t think we would make it when we started this thing. Finishing the swim! Woot!

Grumbles

None today! Feeling really good that the bike is so close to being done and the swim is complete!
