How has your week been? This is my first week of official summer break and it has been off to a great start. Over Memorial day weekend, Rob, Zoey and I took off to Keystone for a quick mountain getaway. It was filled with slow time, meals out, and just enjoying time as a family of three. Zoey loved throwing rocks in the lake and drinking milk from straws in her very own cup at all the restaurants. She is a trouper!

How was your Memorial Day weekend?

I am popping in today to bring you a new feature to Wrecking Routine in the form of Monthly Health Challenges! This is something I have been wanting to do for a long time not only because I love challenges that are short and simple, but because I want to help as many people as I can realize that their health goals are not as far out of reach as they may think they are.

As a Health Coach, I focus on improving the fitness, nutrition, and mindset of my clients based on their specific needs. However, I realize that not everyone is in a place where they can hire a one-on-one coach and while I completely understand that, I do not want finances to be a reason for your health taking a backseat in your day to day life. These Monthly Health Challenges, while designed for the general, are still an excellent way to make small, realistic, and actionable steps towards improving your health. They are especially great if you know you need to make changes to your current health, but are not exactly sure where to start as they will give you a focal point.

June Health Challenge

Each month, there will be a new health challenge which gives you a daily focus on either movement, nutrition, or mentality. For instance, the June Health Challenge includes items like:

  • Track your sugar to be at, or under, 25 grams for the day
  • Include a vegetable in each meal
  • Move one mile as fast as possible on the cardio of your choice
  • Get outside for at least 15 minutes (bring on the Vitamin D!)

Around the block walks with Zoey

While these items may not seem all that arduous, that is the idea: to start implementing small, realistic, and actionable changes into your day so you do not feel overwhelmed, like you crash dieting, or like the “program” is impossible. After all, you never know how bad you feel until you start to feel better. Why would you not want to feel better right away?

You can get your June Health Challenge straight to your inbox by using the form below.

There is no formal check ins related to these Monthly Health Challenges, but if you decide to participate, you can head over the Facebook Group to share what you are doing and how it is going. You will definitely find others completing the challenge as well! If you post on Instagram about your daily challenge, please use the hashtag #junehealthchallenge and tag me @wreckingroutine so I am sure to see it.
