The past few days have basically been the epitome of summer: trying new things, soaking up the sun, and just getting out of the house for as long as possible. Rob’s friend left yesterday, but we made sure to jam pack his last few days. In fact, he has visions of moving here! I would call that a successful visit!
After Saturday’s Urban Party Adventure, we decided to take Sunday easy. Well, I guess hiking a total of five miles isn’t exactly easy, but it was the kind of mellow that the three of us needed.
First stop was Red Rocks to appreciate all the people working out on the stairs and walk the Trading Post Trail. I have to put working out there on my sum me bucket list. There is just so much you can do!
Next up was Green Mountain Trail. It was a perfect day for it since the sun was shining on the mountains and the wildflowers were in a full bloom. I just loved seeing all the colors out on the trail.
We finished our trail day with some Atomic Cowboy pizza and Monopoly. (I kicked everyone’s butt, though in my defense I gave them fair warning.) Atomic Cowboy not only serves of the biggest piece of pizza I have ever seen, but it was actually some of the best I have ever had! I was so impressed at how it good it was!
Monday, we hit Bear Creek Lake Park for some sun and paddle boarding on Soda Lake. This was my first time paddle boarding and I’m not crazy about it. It took me a minute or two to find my balance and center my breathing before I was able to paddle without wobbling all over the place.
Though it was fun, it got a bit dull about about 15 minutes. Doing some yoga out on the board would be a challenge and definitely liven things up. I don’t have that kind of balance though!
Today, Rob and I fly off to New York for my sister, Jackie’s, bridal shower and bachelorette party! I get to see my whole family, close family friends, and my parents’ new house! It’s going to be a seriously fun week.
See you guys from New York!

Have a blast in NY! I really want to try paddle boarding… I didn’t think about it getting boring, but that makes sense. I still want to try it, though. 🙂
I haven’t been paddle boarding and I think I would get bored, too. I like to be doing things that require more action, I guess? I am now hungry for a huge slice of pizza!
I hope you had safe travels to NY!
That pizza looks so good! I am in MI visiting family and we ordered our favorite pizza last night for dinner… MMMMM!
