If you follow me on Instagram, then I have to apologize for bombarding your feed with some very silly photos yesterday between the hours of 2-5. Let me explain.
Rob, his friend Tony, and I were participating in something called Urban Party Adventure. When searching for out of the ordinary things to do on Saturday, I found a half off deal for the Adventure and we decided to try it out.
All participants met up at Stoney’s Bar and Grill and were given a list of tasks to complete in the next three hours. Savannah, the organizer, started these adventures just a few months ago and each one has taken place in a different part of Denver with a different theme.
The tasks took us to a number of different bars and restaurants in a five block radius and through Civic Center Plaza.
It was a really fun way to explore new places that Rob and I wouldn’t normally have thought to go to. Plus, it was great way to show a visitor parts of Denver without walking around aimlessly.
Some of the tasks were creative,
some had me absolutely hysterical,
and many involved cocktails (these were spread out over three hours).
Our team, Team ‘Nam, won Most Fun Team by the end. Savannah had prizes for each team and we won five free tickets to the Westword Music Showcase. Since we won’t be here for it, we gave the tickets to two of the best bartenders from the day. They were pretty pumped!
Honestly, I wasn’t sure how the whole adventure was going to go since most of the participants were college aged and seriously dressed up in ‘Merica attire, but the day turned out to be a total blast!
We weren’t competing hard, but just had fun walking around town, experiencing new things, and being silly.
I definitely recommend it! The next one is July 19 and is themed “Christmas in July”. Rob and I will be flying off to our honeymoon, but if you’re in town, absolutely check it out!

This had me cracking up! It does sound like a good way to introduce a new place to a friend. I would have to be with the right people to do this, but I know plenty of the right people!
Yes, the right people is key. Otherwise it could be rather boring if they aren’t into being a bit silly.
I was wondering what your Twitter pics were about! I am putting the July 19 one on my calendar… that looks like so much fun!
Definitely do it!
This looks like a ton of fun! It would be a good girls’ weekend activity — different from the usual “pedis and cocktails” bit that my girlfriends and I usually do!
There was actually a bachelorette party there!
I was following all of this on IG Sunday — it looked like so much fun! I think I need to go check it out!
You really should! It was a ton of fun and a good way to see different bars and areas of Denver.
Oh, this sounds like such a fun idea! In fact, I sort of want to see about hosting one – it could start at our venue.
Did y’all have to pay for it or just show-up?
That’s a great idea, Kim! We had to pay. It was $80 for a team of 4-5, but there was a groupon for $30. Individuals could sign up for $20, but the groupon was $10.
Your pictures had me cracking up. What a fun idea. I think I have seen a few “adventure scavenger hunts” around where I live, or, groups of people were just doing really interesting things around town. Either way, this seems like a super fun way to relax, meet people, and see the town!
Glad they were entertaining and not annoying/horrifying! It really is a fun way to see the town. There was so much on the list I wouldn’t have seen if I didn’t participate.
