Happy Friday! I didn’t have students today due to teacher inservice and as much as I enjoy the kiddos, it was definitely refreshing to have a mini-break from them.
Cassie at Rural Running Redhead nominated me for the Liebster Award! Cassie was part of my Chase the Moon team and she is one speedy runner. If you haven’t checked her out, I highly recommend it!
I was nominated for the same award when I first started blogging and loved it, so I’m happy to do it again. Here are the rules for the Liebster:
- Post the award on your blog.
- Thank the blogger who presented this award and link back to their blog.
- Write 11 random facts about yourself.
- Nominate 5-11 bloggers who you feel deserve this award and who have less than 200 followers.
- Answer 11 questions posted by the presenter and ask your nominees 11 questions.
Similar to Cassie, I don’t really have 11 random facts about myself, and it would make this post insanely long, so I’m going to head right into the questions Cassie asked.
1. What accomplishment from 2014 are you most proud of (so far)? Running my third marathon and reaching all of my goals!
2. What’s the most awesome place you have ever run/biked/etc.? Bonus points for including a picture. This is a tough one. The half marathon Rob and I ran in Vietnam was quite an experience, especially when a herd of cows crossed the race course right in front of me.
3. What’s your T.V. guilty pleasure? (I need a new treadmill show now that it’s dark always). I am HUGE fan of The Office and tend to watch all the Netflix episodes on repeat. But, my true guilty pleasure is any of the Kardashian shows. They are crazy annoying, but it’s like a train wreck I can’t look away from and perfect for the treadmill!
4. And your workout song guilty pleasure? (Mine’s anything Will Smith circa 1998ish) Anything Lady Gaga. Some N’SYNC may have made its way onto my marathon playlist as well.
5. If you had to switch careers, what would your next career be? I change my mind on this just about every week. Right now I want to do something involving kids/teens and having a healthy lifestyle through physical fitness and cooking. All of my passions in one place? Win.
I think it would also be amazing to be a full time blogger. I know it takes an insane amount of work, but I just have a blast blogging.
6. Describe your dream run. A nice long run in the morning when you can watch the sun come up. Trails preferably, but I’m fine with roads and bike paths as well.
7. Do you enjoy working out with your significant other, or would you rather work out alone? I love working out with Rob! When we’re in the gym, we usually do our thing, but I love that he is there too. It makes me work harder. We typically don’t run together because I am a touch faster and tend to go longer. However, on hikes and such, we stick together and chat the whole time. It’s great “us” time.
8. If I came to visit you, what would we do? (Amy and Brooke, you have to play, too!) Something active! A hike, a run, a race, anything that gets us up and moving. Followed by some cocktails and pizza at McKinner’s.
9. What’s your favorite post-long-run/race food? Pizza! After I recover from (typically) being overheated, I just want pizza. But if it’s right after a run, mostly likely something super cold like a smoothie or almost frozen drink.
10. What is your typical breakfast? (I’m getting bored with mine. I need some ideas). When it was warmer, it was smoothies. Now I’m moving to yogurt bowls/parfaits. When it gets a bit more deeper winter it will be breakfast burritos or ham and egg cups.
11. If you could time travel for a day, where would you spend it? Probably the medieval era. I used to obsessed with medieval times and think it would be fun to see how the royalty lived in their castles during that time.
Time for the nominees! My apologies if you have already been nominated. I nominate Nikki, Meagan, Danica, Jessica, Kristina, Natalie, Kim, Laura, and Stephine!
Questions for my nominees:
- What are you most looking forward to in the coming year? (2015)
- Share one thing on your fitness bucket list.
- If you could transport _____ to _____, what would it be and where? (i.e. I would transport the Colorado mountains and weather to either New York or Minnesota to live near family.)
- What is one thing “all” stereotypical bloggers do that you don’t do, or haven’t yet done?
- What was your favorite childhood book? I’m talking like 0-10 years old, no tween stuff.
- What is the one part of your current job that you absolutely adore doing?
- If you could travel anywhere, where would it be and why?
- What is your favorite Christmas/Holiday movie?
- What is your go-to vessel to have a cocktail in? (I’m on a mug kick right now.)
- Describe a memory that always makes you smile.
- When you run into the grocery store for “one thing”, what is that “one thing” most often?

Psyched that you nominate me, but: “What is one thing “all” stereotypical bloggers do that you don’t do, or haven’t yet done?” I pretty much never answer surveys on my blog 🙂
I want to go for pizza with you soon! Sending you an email to coordinate.
Oh, thanks for the nomination!!
And, I’m so happy you mentioned the egg and ham cups – Jordan was wanting something different for breakfast but he didn’t want to do any work. We can make these and he can just grab a couple – heat and go!!
I love the medieval era too! I love watching movies that take place during this time. The castles, clothing, way of life, it all fascinates me!!
Thank you for nominating me! 🙂
I love that your questions aren’t all running/fitness related. I will be sure to answer these this week!!
Thank you so much for the nomination. I love getting these. Unfortunately I can’t fit in a whole other post right now. It’s all I can do to simply keep up and work on my NaNoWriMo project. However I have big plans for the coming year, and I am definitely most looking forward to my wedding!!!!
Thanks for the nomination, friend! I love little surveys like this!
I’m currently talking about the medieval period in my European History class right now. It would definitely be a cool place to visit, but I don’t think I could live there. Women did not have the easiest time of it!
No, no they did not. And things smelled pretty rank I bet.
I love reading these. Thanks for playing along. 🙂 I agree that it would be cool to be a full-time blogger, but I don’t think I’m disciplined enough to work at home.
It definitely takes some serious work to be full-time, but it sounds like fun. There’s always that hope…
