During our year in Vietnam, Rob and I found ourselves on lots of bicycles. Whether it was through the countryside or through the city, it was always an adventure.
While in Cambodia, we decided to bicycle the temple loop and a street side vendor rented bicycles to us for $1. Here are the top 10 reasons why a $1 bicycle is better than an expensive one.
1. One size fits all.
2. You can take it anywhere.
3. Handlebars are optional.
4. They come with nifty baskets.
5. You’ll never be going so fast that you can’t stop to hear the crickets.
6. You don’t have to lock them up.
7. It doesn’t matter how you treat them.
8. You’ll never have to replace your brakes…because there aren’t any.
9. You don’t have to worry about seat comfort. (Note the bent back angle of the bike on the left.)
10. There is no bicycle envy because everyone is equal.

Those crickets were insanely loud!!
$1 bicycles seem pretty awesome (or something!!).
Or something is definitely right!
This was awesome!!!!! Great “Tall Tale!”
Thank you!
Ouch! These bikes are reminding me of some very uncomfortable (but fun!) bikes I rode in China. They were never much of a problem until the next day when I could barely sit without my entire body (esp my butt) killing me. Thanks for reminding me of the good memories!
Those bikes really hurt the butt. How was it riding around China? Where in China were you?
