When Rob and I started dating, we started a mini-tradition of going camping for Thanksgiving.
The problem with this year’s trip is we have only been snow camping once, and that was kind of a fluke in southern Arizona. So we spent the past few days gathering what we need for our trip to the snowy rockies.
Right now our plan is drive west on I-70 through Breckenridge, Vail, Glenwood Springs, and Aspen. We rented cross country skis from REI and have a small agenda to play in the mountains on some nordic center trails.
The food is prepared, every sweater we own is packed, and we are ready for a wintery turkey day.
Enjoy your Thanksgiving and I will see you all on Saturday!

HAVE FUN! I love this idea for a tradition. Stay warm, when I was out camping in snow in September in Crested Butte, I swore that was it for camping season until July! I think we’re doing a hut trip this spring, but that isn’t really camping!
Have a wonderful time! It will be a shock for you both as you’ve lived in tropical climates for 7 years!! Don’t forget your helmets!! Happy Thanksgiving!!!! You know we’ll miss you tons!
Happy Thanksgiving Brooke! Enjoy!!! 🙂
Happy thanksgiving. ENJOY!!!
Enjoy your camping trip!!!! It sounds like you are going to have a great time 🙂
Camping in the snow – you’re brave! I’ve always wanted to visit Aspen (and Vail too!) Happy Thanksgiving!
