Today started with a hike. Rob and I had originally planned to walk about 3 miles in a new-to-us park, Green Mountain, but we ended up lost and stuck on a trail that had no turn offs.
We ended up semi-bush whacking to cut down our distance. 7.33 miles and 3 hours later, we were thankful to see the car! We have hiked farther and harder than that on many occasions, but we were just not prepared for it today. The fresh air and getting moving felt amazing though.
Our hike ended around noon and it was perfect timing to hit up my favorite store: Costco! Sample ladies + starving from hiking = hitting all the samples 3 times.
Once home, with the groceries put away, I headed to the library for a few hours for some NASM study time. I am getting pretty nervous about this looming test and am feeling a bit unprepared. I plan to buckle down every night for the next two weeks to solidify the info.
Now it’s time for some dinner and a movie at home with my husband. (still not used to saying that)
RQ: What did you do this Saturday? Costco samples: yay or nay?

We explored Green a few weeks ago and it is totally easy to get lost. But you can see so much from up there that you can mostly see where the trails are and where they go. Luckily, it is not too difficult to bush whack there. I was at Alfalfas (smaller grocery store) today after a hike and there were tons of samples out today apparently getting shoppers new ideas for Thanksgiving. I took quite a few and was proud of it!
Samples rock because they make me try things I wouldn’t normally even think about buying. I love them. Green Mountain is pretty gorgeous and well-maintained. I really enjoyed the walk up there.
Soccer… racing… driving!
I’ve never been a big samples fan ~ but I know that those who love them swear by the experience!
I can’t wait to hear about your crazy Saturday!
We don’t have Costco – just Sam’s Club.
I spent my Saturday at a middle school wrestling tournament – fun times!!
That must have been fun times for sure. I love how disconnected from their bodies middle schoolers can be. That would make middle school wrestling that much more interesting.
You will rock your test Brooke!!!!
Thanks, Heather. I really hope I will be ready.
