A few weeks ago, I blogged about my studying progress for the NASM Certified Personal Trainer test. With all the craziness of wedding planning, I have only had time to crack the textbook for about a half hour each day.

NASM gives it’s soon-to-be trainers a testing date deadline. Mine is December 14 and I am getting a little nervous. Here is what I have left to do:

1. Finish the “candy” chapters. I saved the best for last.

2. Watch the other half of the online videos

3. Take the online quizzes

4. Take the practice test

5. Make flashcards of key terms

6. Make graphic organizers that are color coded and visually appealing

7. Stare at all study materials until the information is solidified in my brain.

8. Pass the test.

Easy, right?  My hope is that in the week I have off after the wedding, I can get a good chunk of the videos watched, study guides made, and information solidified.

I am a completely visual learner, which is why studying science topics and straight memorization can be tough for me. I have to make charts, graphics, and write in different colors in order to memorize it. It’s a good system for me, but it takes a little longer to learn!

The section I am most worried about. Functions, scientific names, oh my!

The section I am most worried about. Origins, insertions, and functions, oh my!
