With a team of dedicated wedding planners (thank you Mom, sisters, Marie, and Amanda!), most of what I have to do is make sure my wedding dress still fits by wedding day. I bought it a week after moving home from Vietnam, where portions are smaller and processed foods are minimal.

Things I’ve been doing:

  • 9000 in 90 Days Challenge – The light is at the end of the tunnel!
  • No pasta, potatoes, rice. This is the hardest one, by far. Big salads are doing well to replace them, but do take more effort, especially when I’m tired.

  • No ice cream. Ice cream used to be my after dinner go-to dessert. Luckily, Vietnam got me off that kick and it’s sticking! Now it’s just a strip of chocolate or handful of M&Ms.
  • No alcohol during weekdays. I enjoy having a beer or a glass of wine at the end of the day while making dinner. However, there’s no denying the sugar/carb content in it.

  • Less focus on cardio, more focus on lifting

  • Minimal cheese. Feta on salads only, as opposed to cheddar slices for a snack.
  • Minimal processed foods (chips, crackers, etc.). Weekend food prep is SO important for to stick with this one.

  • Bridal Shred. I signed up for Bobbi’s nHerShoes Bridal Shred. I couldn’t participate fully because of moving, but it was killer workout inspiration!

With all that being said, moderation and indulging in cheat treats is key to me sticking to these things. After about 3 months of these things I feel so much stronger, my jeans fit better than ever, and I just generally feel good. Bring on that wedding dress!
