Monday is typically a workout recap day, but I can’t bring myself to post it.
I learned today that a friend from Vietnam passed away. Wayne was an expat living in Ho Chi Minh City for the past 12 plus years. He was married to a local, adored by the students, and an avid bicycle rider. It was the norm for Wayne to bike from Saigon to Cambodia and back in one weekend.
Is it poetic that he died doing what he loved or a cruel trick from the universe? Wayne was hit by a truck while on his bicycle and died at the scene. The article is here.
There is a saying among the expats in Vietnam: “Trucks don’t stop.” I am heartbroken over how true this phrase turned out to be.
My prayers go out to Wayne’s family both state and Vietnam side.
Be careful out there, friends. You never know in what instant your fate may change.

Brooke, I am so sorry. Tragedies like this are so hard to swallow and there is no making sense of it. I wish only peace for you during this time. For your friend’s family as well. I am thinking of you!
