Put some fun into your festivities with these full body strength at home Halloween workouts. Grab your set of dumbbells and get moving before the costumes.

I do not put a lot of effort into Halloween costumes. Generally, I look through my closet and pick something kind of random or draw inspiration from Jim Halpert in The Office. Bonus points if you can name at least one of his “costumes” from memory.

One year I went as Connect The Dots with lines drawn down my arms connecting my many freckles.

Another year Rob and I dressed in all black and stuck cobwebs and socks to our clothes and called it a Dusty Corner. We were babies. And I was actually wearing makeup!

For Zoey’s first Halloween, I was more stressed than excited to create a costume for her.

I wanted her to be warm for potential trick or treating but was not willing to spend more than a few bucks on a costume.

I took a gifted white fleece onesie, cut out some felt shapes, and used Velcro to attach them and make her into Olaf. I thought I was a crafty, thrifty genius and was actually more excited about her costume than I had ever been about one of mine.

We had grand plans to go trick or treating, take adorable photos, and make a fun night of it. If you want to make your four month old extra tired and throw their first tantrum, tell her your plans.

Zoey wore her carefully made Olaf Halloween costume for all of 20 minutes, the majority of which she cried through. Right after I took it off, she passed out.

With her snuggled in bed and our grand plans of parading her around the trick or treating neighborhood out the window, we opted for handing out candy and a scary movie (the one I will watch in a year).

Whether your Halloween plans are going in full force, or they have taken an unexpected turn, I highly recommend you schedule an at home Halloween workout for the day.

Fitting in a sweat session during a holiday makes me feel so much better about the indulgent food that gets served, the out of ordinary clothes I tend to wear, and the long day of being with other people. That time working out mentally sets me up for the rest of the day, or helps me decompress at the end of one.

These two at home Halloween workouts will help you put a little fitness fun into your festivities this holiday. Both workouts will give you a full body workout and a solid sweat to have you feeling your most confident in your chosen costume – whether you go all out or opt for sweats on the couch.
