Challenge Accepted - 52 actionable health challenges for every week of the year

Are you tired of starting over with your health?

Do you love a challenge?

Bring on Challenge Accepted. This pack of micro challenges gives you 52 actionable health challenges for every week of the year. No more starting over. No more health overhaul overwhelm. Just, one challenge each week to get you to narrow in on your health habits and make those lasting changes.

You know you love a good challenge, and often challenge yourself with your health in some unhealthy ways.

  • Ironman in a week? You’re in.
  • Eating only what you get from the weekly co op delivery? Bring it.
  • Starting an intense workout plan that requires 60+ minutes per day? Check it off.

For you, the challenge is how you hope you will see lasting results with your health goals. You tell yourself that this is the challenge that is going to change it all.

While you have fun doing the challenge, ultimately, it is not creating sustainable, healthier habits that fit into your busy schedule.

It’s time to change all that.

Wrecking Routine was founded on the fact that I love a good challenge. In fact, I was sitting in the gym in Vietnam after running 10 miles on the treadmill when the name for this website was born.

It started with a series of weekly challenges and then turned to monthly challenges like Walktober and Mile a Day May.

While the site itself has come a long way from these smaller, haphazard challenges, so have I.

With three young kids, there is no time to take on a challenge I can’t realistically complete. I love to give myself a good shake up now and then with some type of dare, but I need to be intentional about what I take on. I want to be successful and I want whatever the challenge is to have a lasting impact on my life in some way.

Why Weekly Challenges?

Instead of picking health challenges out of the blue just because you are ready to see results in your health, be intentional about what you take on.

Rather than doing an overhaul of your entire diet, needing extended time for a workout, or cleaning out the entire pantry of any semblance of junk food, give yourself one challenge to focus on at a time with clear action steps.

By narrowing your focus to one health habit per week, you are solidifying your habits and systems without the overwhelm. You are giving yourself the gift of having fun with a challenge while creating that lasting change.

How Do These Challenges Work?

That is where the Challenge Accepted cards come in.

These 52 cards give you one challenge each week of the entire year. You can follow them in order as they are roughly based on a January-December cycle, or you can choose to do them in the order you prefer. Truly, you can start these challenges any time and don’t have to wait for a certain time of year or day of the week. In addition, you can create 6 of your very own challenges.

There are weekly challenges like:

  • Eat dinner at the table every night
  • Make 3 new recipes
  • Do only 20 minute workouts all week
  • Make it a fun fitness week
  • Give yourself a morning high 5

If a challenge comes up that you already do consistently, use the week to streamline your systems around that particular habit. You could also take on one of the challenges you struggled with earlier again.

The goal is to make the habits these challenges present work seamlessly in your daily life. Yes, they will challenge you, but they will also change you. That is what you are going for.

How Do I Use The Challenge Cards?

Within your Challenge Accepted purchase, you get an instant PDF download. Simply print the cards.

Cut the cards out, give them a quick hole punch, and put them on a ring.

When you are ready for your first challenge, and you can start any time of year, just flip to your first challenge. Write down your two action steps and make it a successful week!

Keep the cards handy so you can easily access them at the start of each week. The same way you sit down to plan the week ahead for kids’ schedules, meals, and events, you plan your challenge for the week.

By the end of the week, you will be one step closer to that healthier life you want to live, but in a sustainable way.

Now that I have gotten some ideas from you, I look forward to both meal planning and meal prepping. Meal prepping and planning have saved me a great amount of times. I have more times in my life to do other things. I am not spending a great deal of times in the kitchen every day wondering what I am going to cook. I just open the fridge and take out my container.

I have been working on my weight and better eating habits for some time now. I’m always up for a challenge. This challenge forced me to change and add more vegetables to my plates. That in turn filled me faster and kept me more regular.
