With your limited time, this at home workout is ideal for busy parents. Grab a set of dumbbells and complete it with the kids right in your living room!
All the people who told me that third babies are easier to adapt to than second babies gave me some serious false hope.
When we brought William home, we had a rough first week where it seemed like both kids were always crying, Zoey was always acting out, and we would never get through it. The one thing I really had to get used to during that transition was that I could not make everyone happy at the same time.

With Hazel now part of our family for two weeks already (How did that happen?!), I am feeling much more overwhelmed than I did with two kids.

Sure, I am more confident in my knowledge of how to care for a newborn, but I am seriously shaky on how to get three children fed, dressed, and out the door on time for anything. Not to mention going from a parking lot into a building with Zoey needing to hold hands, William being a bit of a runner when we are outside, and Hazel traveling in the infant car seat.
We only had one biting incident (William was trying to get out of holding my hand to cross the street) when I attempted the preschool pickup with all three kids.
I am calling that a win.
I will have a post up in another week or two that details more how everyone is adapting to being a family of five, but for now I am trying to put very little pressure on myself to get all the things done and just really soak up all this time with Hazel’s very sleepy newborn cuddles.

With my general high energy back (apart from the typical newborn tiredness), I am already looking forward to regular workouts.
I found myself pretty low energy in the last two and a half weeks of pregnancy, so I gave myself some grace and skipped regular workouts in favor of stretching and hip opening exercises while the kids puzzled or “cooked” in their play kitchen.

You know that I adore compound exercises for quick at home workouts, but this 20 Minute Rounds At Home Workout is also one for the fast results column as it combines both strength moves and cardiovascular moves, so you can get your heart rate up in your living room while building some muscle tone.
The moves are simple so they do not take too much thought. Ideal for keeping an eye on the kids while you fit in your fitness!
Grab your set of dumbbells and set your timer for this workout. I adore our Bowflex Adjustable Dumbbells since they do not take up a lot of room and both Rob and I can use them without having piles of weights laying around.

What I love about this 20 Minute Rounds At Home Workout is that you can easily do it with the kids playing nearby. Since there is no pressure to rush through the workout, you can certainly stop to change a diaper, referee an argument, or refill a snack. Your choice if you want to stop the timer for those tasks.

Before you start any workout, be sure to do a dynamic warm up for at least five minutes. Same with a quick cool down. Your muscles and future soreness will thank you!
