
Knowing what to look for when it comes to nutrition labels is seriously important when you are eating for specific health goals. Clients often ask me what to pay attention to and regularly send me pictures of labels while they are in grocery stores or cleaning out their pantries.
With the pressure to be low carb, low sodium, low sugar, low fat, it can be very difficult to find something to actually eat and be confident that it will not derail you from your health goals.
There are five must dos I consider with every single nutrition label I look at. To the point where I refuse to buy canned tomato soup because the nutrition stats and ingredients labels are so weak. (Ask Rob. I threw a fit about it in the middle of the grocery store a few years ago and then proceeded to spend all afternoon trying to make my own tomato soup. It turned out delicious.)
