Running has always been one of my passions from that first day of freshman year of high school cross country when I barely knew how to put one too-big foot in front of the other to now where I regularly run organized races from 5ks to full marathons. Rob and I even direct our own kids race series!

With all the inspiration, motivation, and improved health running has given me, I simply adore sharing that passion with others not only for the fun of just moving your body in a low-equipment, do-anywhere sport, but for the energy of a race day. Whether you are a walker, jogger, or runner, there is a place for you out on a race course and a place for you in the Finish Line Strong Training Camp.

What is the Finish Line Strong Training Camp?

The Finish Line Strong Training Camp is a 5 week online training camp designed specifically for those with their sights set on completing a 5k or 10k race. Even if you have just been toying with the idea of running a race, this is the motivation you need to actually do it! You do not need to be going for a personal record or plan to run the entire (or any) of the race, but this Training Camp will get you to the finish line feeling strong, less injury prone, and ready to take on another one.

Finish Line Strong Training Camp is set up with:

  • Two days a week of runner specific strength conditioning, which not only helps you be less prone to injuries, but focuses on the areas your body needs to strengthen the most after lots of repetitive motions. Think glutes, shoulders, and stability.
  • Two days a week of core stability. Your core plays a huge role in your running as it directly connects to your form: standing upright, avoiding swinging your arms across your abdomen, and proper hip placement. Each core workout is quick and can be combined with a strength or interval day.
  • Two days a week of interval runs and one day for a longer run, you will be prepared to go the distance at a strong and steady pace. Intervals are essential to running training as they teach your body how to efficiently distribute oxygen to your muscles while adapting to the imposed demands of faster, hillier running. Rather than just completing a steady pace for a set amount of time, which your body adapts to really quickly, you are forcing your body to find new ways to work. It is one of the best ways to improve your running form and speed.
  • Weekly nutrition focus to help you take sustainable action on your diet.
  • A daily mindset question to help you focus on your goals, prepare for setbacks, overcome struggles, and celebrate your successes.
  • Twice daily check ins with a secret Facebook Group

Who is the Finish Line Strong Training Camp best for?

Ask yourself a few questions to determine if this Training Camp is right for you:

  • Do you want to be more active and health conscious?
  • Have you spent any time in the past crash dieting just to have it not work out?
  • Do you have any level of desire to complete a 5k or 10k?
  • Can you move two miles at a time at least three days a week?
  • Do you want to improve your energy, level out your moods, and have your clothes fit better?
  • Do you need a change, or some fresh air, in your workouts?
  • Are you more successful when you have someone (or a whole group) keeping you accountable?

If you answered YES to any of these questions, then this boot camp is just what you need!

Finish Line Strong Training Camp is really for anyone. If you have an upcoming race, have always wanted to complete a race, or have a friend who convinced you to do it, then you want to be as prepared as possible. If you can comfortably move two miles at a time three days a week, then you will be able to more than handle the Finish Line Strong Training Camp workouts.

I also highly recommend you register for a 5 or 10k now, ideally during the weekend of August 25. Head to Running in the USA to find an upcoming race in your area. While you could complete a 5 or 10k on your own, I do highly recommend you register for an organized race. There is something so exciting about race day that you will most likely find yourself running faster and possibly becoming addicted to the race atmosphere.

How does the Finish Line Strong Training Camp work?

Once you register for the Finish Line Strong Training Camp, you will receive a confirmation email. On July 18, you will receive a month of workouts, access to the secret Facebook group, and your nutrition workbook.

As we move through the 5 weeks, you will have twice daily check ins via Facebook. The first check in will ask you a food or mindset question. The second check in will be specific to your workout, or intentional movement, for the day.

Not only do you have a personal trainer and health coach at your fingertips, but you also have an incredible community of women doing the same thing you are and more than willing to support and encourage you throughout training camp.

All workouts are designed to be completed at home, or in a gym. It will help if you have free weights or bands if you decide to complete your workouts at home. Add in a stopwatch and a place to move around and you are good to go!

The strength workouts are also designed to be modified or advanced however you need, so you never have to feel like a move is too hard causing you to just skip it. There is always a way to modify it so you get the most out of your fitness time.

In addition to movement, each week of Training Camp will have a different nutrition focus. The goal of this is to set yourself up for healthy habits and changes over time. I do not want you to feel overwhelmed by everything you “should” do all at once as the purpose is to create sustainable habits. The nutrition focuses for Finish Line Strong Training Camp are:

  • Week 1: Quality Carbohydrates
  • Week 2: Powerful Proteins
  • Week 3: Healthy Fats
  • Week 4: Sugar Awareness
  • Week 5: Meal Prep

You will also be asked to hydrate appropriately for your body each day of Training Camp. A vital part of increased mileage!

What have other people said about these training camps?

You can read more testimonials about working with me, and specifically these online boot camps, here.

“Working out with Brooke is the best workout decision I’ve made. She leaves no room for excuses. There are no workouts that are too hard because she shows you how to modify everything. And there is always a way to push yourself if you’re looking for more than just maintaining your weight. Brooke teaches you how to make realistic changes to your diet and exercise so that you can stick with it. And most importantly she teaches moderation. It’s not about depriving yourself but more about always being aware of what you put in your body. My favorite thing is having Brooke come up with the workouts so I don’t have to and she always has great ways suggestions to keep me focused on my eating and workouts. The check-ins on Facebook with Brooke and everyone involved in the workouts is a great way to stay accountable and adds a little fun competition in there too.” ~Meghann, MN
