I have to admit it, it’s been tough getting back in shape after 3 weeks off. For the past week, I have really had to work to even motivate myself to finish my workouts. This is basically how I’ve felt:
Today is the first day I feel like I’m on the up-swing. Woot! I knocked out a 6 mile run and didn’t feel like dying, like I have during my 20-30 minute runs all week. Even though it’s a day late, I finally finished this week’s challenge today.
This week’s Weekly Challenge is inspired by the workouts Rob has been doing for the last few months. Rob has been following The New Rules of Lifting for a while now and really enjoys it.
One aspect of his workouts is a timed section. For example, 5 minutes of burpees (ouch!), or 5 minutes of jumping jacks. The idea is to get your heart rate up.
Instead of just a high number of reps this week, three of the Weekly Challenge moves are based on time. I wanted to see how it went before fully committing all 5 moves to it. Let me know what you think!

Wow! Congrats on the 6-mile run! I’ve been running pretty consistently since November, trying to build up to my first half marathon in late February, but I just now got up to 6 miles (yesterday). So I’m having a hard time believing you’re out of shape. 😉
How did your 6 miles go? Which half are you doing? I love half marathons. The atmosphere is great and they feel more manageable than full. Can’t wait to hear about your race!
