Welcome to another week everyone! I hope you had a fantastically relaxing weekend. Things were dusty around here as Rob and I prepared for a garage sale we’re having this weekend. If you remember, we bought a hoarders house “as is” and as such, inherited a lot of miscellaneous items: mostly dish ware, furniture, and picture frames. Whatever doesn’t sell this weekend is off to Goodwill.

Garage Sale Preparation

Today, I wanted to share three things I’ve seen floating around the internet related to diet, body image, and fitness. I would love to hear what you think of one, or all, of them in the comments!

Better For It

While this video had me laughing out loud, because that is exactly what is going through my head most of the time (especially during yoga), it has a deeper message. Don’t compare yourself to others. Your health and fitness journey is yours alone. Whether you run half a half marathon, or kick butt with those baby weights, you are still out there, improving your health, and doing what you can for your body.

Sugar

Even natural sugar can have negative effectives. This article, “I Went on a Radical Eat Sugar Diet – Here’s What Happened” answers the question of what happens when you eat lots of natural/added sugars in healthy foods.

Ladies: the recommended daily amount is 25 grams, natural or unnatural. Difficult: yes. Impossible: no. A friend of mine actually just quit added sugar entirely and feels amazing. Something to think about (though I know it’d be tough for me to quit all added sugar).

Girl Undresses in Public For Courageous Cause

Not only do I think this woman is brave for stripping down on a busy street, but I think it is a testament to anyone and everyone who has every doubted themselves because of their looks. It’s about self-love, my friends. Embracing who you are while living a realistically healthy life.

If any of these videos, articles, or overarching issues strike a chord with you, and you would like to talk about it with someone further, I would love to help. Shoot me an email at wreckingroutine@gmail.com.

RQ: What are your thoughts on the videos and article? How do you show your body self-love and acceptance?
