Hello Hello!
Not going to lie, I’ve been looking forward to writing this virtual happy hour post all day. Not because I have anything out of this world exciting to share, but just because they’re kind of fun!
For those of you are new around here, Virtual Happy Hour posts are basically an update on the week, thoughts kicking around, and whatever else is happening life at the moment. So, pull up a cocktail (if it’s an appropriate hour), and enjoy some chat with me!
If we were at happy hour, I would tell you that this weekend is pretty race epic. Tonight I am part of a 5-person relay team for Chase the Moon (last year’s recap here). One of our teammates will be running from 7pm-7am. Can’t wait! Then, Saturday, Rob, myself, and a few friends are doing the Rugged Maniac mud run. I’m going to be pretty exhausted, but I can sleep any old time. Would you ever do an overnight race or a mud run?
If we were at happy hour, I would tell you that I’m getting a bit stressed about the new school year. With 5 separate classes, the required planning is feeling a bit overwhelming right now. Thankfully, the kids don’t come until Wednesday and we have all Monday and Tuesday to get ish done. Crossing my fingers I can sleep on Tuesday night and avoid any teacher dreams! What are you stressing about right now or have weird dreams about?
If we were at happy hour, I would tell you that one of the reasons I don’t like shopping is because stores don’t carry longs. Sure, you can order them online, but it’s always a risk. I went to the Gap, Banana Republic, and the Limited looking for long dress pants and they all told me they no longer carry them in stores. Frustrating! Do you like shopping?
If we were at happy hour, I would tell you that these eggplant “chips” are seriously delicious. For not loving eggplant, I couldn’t resist the 99 cent sale. A little egg, a little breadcrumbs, a little baking, add some mozzarella and tomato and you have a delicious dish! What delicious food have you made recently?

Have you ever checked out Eddie Bauer for pants? Their longs are crazy long and I usually get their regular length as it is long enough. As a fellow tall girl I feel your pain. I have almost stopped going into Banana Republic as it seems to be a store full of petites sizes!
Sometimes I can find longs on a clearance rack at Old Navy (someone returned their order!) or even at a resale shop. I recently found a pair of pants in my size that were a 36″ length at Goodwill with the tag still on them. Score!
Major score! I think I just have to do all my pants ordering online from now on.
I would love to do an overnight run or just a relay with a bunch of gals would be so much fun! I just hate shopping no matter what. Nothing ever fits right and if it does in the store it looks funny when I get it home.
Something like Ragnar would be a blast! I don’t know if I would enjoy the whole van thing though. Colorado has one where you just camp out by a fire and then run various loops. That would be more my style I think.
I have the same problem. If i need pants I go to the store try the regulars and order the longs in the same size on line, i just know ahead of time this is how it will be.
I guess it’s been so long since I bought pants, that I still thought they sold longs in store. That tells you how much I love shopping….
