Well last week’s challenge and I really didn’t get along. I knew I was in trouble on Thursday when I wasn’t even half way through any of the exercises. I could come up with some excuses:

  • Things at work are changing and I’ve had to work late,
  • Rob and I had some much needed quality time together in the form of a date night,

Trivia Date Night. We got our butts kicked.

  • I was worried about the east coast with Hurricane Sandy as my family lives in the NY area (I hope everyone you know and love is safe and sound!).

But really there are no excuses.

I finished the rest of the reps on Sunday during a game of Scrabble. While Rob was thinking, I was jumping jacking, side tri rising, and sumo squating. (All of this sounds vaguely dirty.)

Of course I would play “jog”

It must have the energy surge, but I finally won against Rob for the first time in 4 games. He claims he wasn’t going easy on me, but I have a hunch he might have been. I’ll take it for the ego boost.

It was a close game, but I won!

I want to go into this Weekly Challenge with more determination than last week. Definitely not going to leave over half the reps until Sunday this time.

In case you’re not sure of the moves, here are some videos to help you out:

  • Groucho Walks – The key is to stay low.
  • Arm Circles – With or without weights. Each means each direction.
  • Side Bends – With or without a dumbbell. Make sure you keep your shoulders straight and use your core to pull you back up.
  • Burpees – Sans push up.
  • Elbow-Knee Touches – Fast forward to minute 1:15.

Reader Question: Serious note – Is anyone you know effected by the hurricane? Less Serious Note – Do you know anyone with the same name as a Hurricane?
