It was a gorgeous day here in Denver!
Thank goodness I was able to get out for a run today. For the past two days, I have been stuck in extra long meetings that have just been driving me crazy. At least there was Panera.
My main beef with the meetings these past two days was that everything we discussed was in the abstract, dreamy, hopeful mentality. I am a literal, task-oriented, get things done kind of person, so sitting in 8 hours of the opposite for the past few days was really irritating.
There is nothing wrong with being the abstract type, but when you’re in a school, with limited time, and a never-ending to do list, it just makes me antsy.
I can also get snappy and a bit rude when I don’t see the point of something. This would probably explain the stink eye I got when I asked, “Who is funding this?”
Thankfully I redeemed myself of that comment today by being extra participatory.

Literal all the way!!!
I knew you’d be with me!
Literal 100%
In college I was involved with some humanitarian groups and the unrealistic discussions we had were outrageous. I ended up making everyone hate me with my realism. I mean you can’t just fly to a country and tell people how to live, especially when you have no money and don’t speak the language!
Yeah, that would not be something a literal/realistic person would think is possible. Sounds like that group needed you to help ground them.
I like to be both!!! 🙂
Nothing wrong with that.
Was your “who’s funding this?” question related to the billions of mandates that Colorado teachers are getting handed? Because the answer is “no one.” I am literal, too. Obviously. 🙂
Exactly.
