Steph at Now I Run posted her answers to a survey from Cori at Olive to Run and I thought it would be fun to participate!
“Would You Rather… Running Style Survey”
#1. Would you rather run in a thunderstorm or a snowstorm? – Thunderstorm. This stems from my cross country days where we ran in the pouring rain no matter what. It always made me feel like a badass.
#2. Would you rather breathe through your nose or breathe through your mouth? – Nose. I am a mouth breather when running and I am LOUD.
#3. Would you rather do 100 squats or 100 crunches? [Now take a break and go do them.
] – Tricksy survey. 100 crunches. My legs are a bit jello-ed from some serious intervals about an hour ago.
#4. Would you rather have a baked good for dessert or an extra serving of your favorite entree? – Extra serving of the entree! Dinner is my favorite meal (which I know is weird). It’s always pretty tasty.
#5. Would you rather run on a treadmill for an hour or run around the same street block for an hour? – Run on a treadmill for an hour. If I can just put on a movie, or silly TV show, I won’t get bored for the hour. Plus, I like to play with the speed and incline on the treadmill.
#6. Would you rather have a headache during a run or a side stitch? – Side stitch. Though they hurt, they can usually be stretched out while you’re still running. A headache could take hours to dissipate.
#7. Would you rather have a rest day on a work day or a day off? – On a work day. Especially a day with after school meetings.
#8. Would you rather be a race director or a race volunteer? – This is a tough one. I would love to be a race director at some point, but they have so much to do! For now, volunteer it is.
#9. Would you rather spend your money on running gadgets [HRM, GPS watch, Headphones] or running shoes? – Shoes! Size 11’s aren’t cheap.
#10. Would you rather run in a relay or do the run portion of a distance triathlon? – Relay. Something about the team atmosphere and everyone doing the same thing sounds like a blast. I’ve got my eye on a Ragnar…and a full triathlon.

This is fun – I’ve seen lots of people playing along to the survey!!!
I picked the treadmill even for #1 – I pretty much wimp out on all weather these days.
Well when it’s cold and icy, it can get a bit dangerous out there.
It really is easy to get lost in a tv show or movie when you’re on the treadmill isn’t it? Thanks for joining in!
So easy! Plus it makes the time go by very quickly.
We have a very similar style, except I’d take 100 squats over crunches and I avoid the treadmill at all costs. Though perhaps if I brought my Kindle Fire and watched something I’d like it better, I’ve actually never done that. 🙂
You should try it! I get so distracted when I have a show on.
I love when Cori does these surveys!
Cool answers!
They are a lot of fun.
AHHH! I love that you did this!
My feet are at least an 11… I’ve bought 12s that don’t fit. 🙁
Do you have to special order shoes? I feel like the bigger the size, the less stylish the shoes get.
I’ve special ordered shoes and I end up sending 75% of them back because I don’t like how they fit (smaller than I expected/ tight in the ball of my foot). DSW is great for having out of the ordinary sizes. If I do order I like to stick with Amazon Prime or some other comparable site that will not make me pay for shipping twice!
Unfortunately, in my opinion, even cute shoes don’t look cute when they get to be my size! 🙁
That said, if YOU wore them I’d probably think they were cute! I tend to be pretty critical of my own feet.
