To check out the first part of my amazing Shower/ Bachelorette weekend, check out Epicness Part 1.
Welcome to Part 2! I left off with my sisters, my friend Amanda, and I running around the house packing before our Dad drove us to the train.
After arriving in NYC, we headed to Kate’s apartment for some King’s Cup pregaming, champagne, and delicious hors d’oeuvres that her husband, Brian, picked up for us.
I was also showered with special gifts for the honeymoon which were thoughtful and so fun to open!
Once the sixth person to our party arrived, my friend from college, Camille, the girls dressed me up in proper bachelorette party attire. I had “Bride to be” glasses, a pink boa, tulle wings, and we all wore pink beads.
Kate, Jackie, and Margot planed a full evening of bar hopping around Kate’s neighborhood. I loved that we just had to walk a few blocks between our destinations.
First stop, Tortilla Flatts for some dinner and margarita/daiquiri pitchers. The waitress got things started off right when she came over with complimentary tequila shots and did one with us!
When dinner was ordered, Kate pulled out a pack of these cards:
The premise started with, I get to pull two and then pick which one I wanted to do. As the night went on, I was handed cards and sent off to accomplish them. My entourage could also get people to help me complete the cards. It was a blast and got us all mingling with other bar hoppers.
Here were some of the completed cards: (Limited pictures on the following to protect the innocent.)
- Get a photo taken of you sitting with a married man.
- Get 5 different guys to kiss you on the cheek in one minute or less.
- Get a man to give a piggyback ride.
- Get a guy to declare in front of your friends, “I’m not a typical male and sex is not important to me.”
- Drink from a stranger’s drink without asking permission. (It was one of Margot’s friends, so not really a stranger.)
- Write your name with lipstick on the chest of a wiling male.
7. Get a guy to show you a hidden tattoo.
8. Pass a love note to a guy who is with his date.
9. Borrow a guy’s cell phone and call the last dialed number and talk to the person.
10. Get the bouncer to laugh at something.
11. Get a guy to ask you to marry him. (I got two! One was with a tequila shot, which I made him drink, the other was with Amanda’s ring!)
12. Give a guy a back massage.
We moved from Tortilla Flatts to Brass Monkey. There was a bachelor party happening there and the guys were thrilled to see my group. They were Canadian, super sweet, and had a blast picking their own cards to complete! It became a competition among them to see who could do the most!
After getting funky on the dance floor at our third stop for the evening,
we were all starving and stopped for a New York slice around 3 am. It hit the spot!
We transformed Kate’s studio into one giant bed as we found places for 5 of us to sleep. We were all exhausted in the morning, but rallied to see Kate and Brian’s new apartment, have lunch with my grandma and parents, and rehash the night.
Saturday was a complete and total blast. There is something so special about hanging out with all of my sisters. This was the first time we have all gone out together and it was magic! Thank you sisters, Amanda, and Camille for an extraordinary party! I can’t wait for the next party…in 3 weeks!!!
