As soon as track practice was over today I zipped home to change and ran to a park 5 minutes from my apartment for a 20 minute bodyweight workout.
With all the running training I’ve been doing in preparation for the marathon in May, my strength and weight workouts have been lacking.
It was too beautiful to be stuck in the gym, and I didn’t feel like following a strict workout, so I just kind of mixed things up. What happened was this sweat fest:
Complete each move in order one time through. Don’t rest more than 10 seconds. I finished in 20 minutes and then ran home.
Video links/explanations to a few of the moves:
- Star Jumps
- Toe Touches
- Jump Twists
- Squat Jacks
- Jump Jump Squat – Do two jump rope hops, then jump into a squat. That counts as one.
I’m usually not a fan of workouts that don’t follow an order, rhyme, or reason, but this was exactly what I needed today. Quick, sweaty, tiring. Perfect for a Friday.
Tomorrow I’m at an all day track meet, so I probably won’t see you all until Sunday. Have a fabulous Saturday!

Thank you so much for sharing! This sounds so awesome!!!!
It was a lot of fun when I did it!
This looks like a perfect workout for those ADD days. 🙂 I hope your track meet is not miserable today! The one my students were at got cancelled at 11 because it was so windy, rainy, and overall miserable.
Thanks, Cassie. It was pretty cold and windy, but the sun came out for a bit to warm us up.
That workout looks great!!!
I hope the track meet went well!!!
It did! Thanks, Kim!
I KNEW I could count on you for a good workout… I was thinking about you today because I’ve been missing the strength workouts with TRF now that they’re done. A few minutes ago I found a good strength workout at It’s Progression… but that made me think of you AGAIN and now that I’m here I’m not disappointed!
Thank you 🙂
Hahaha, thank you! Sounds like it was perfect timing for me to put it up.
