Do you ever have so much to do that you don’t know where to start?
That is the way I have been feeling all day today. My to do list is quite long in addition to classroom observations coming up at work the next few weeks. It’s a bit of a stressful time if you’re new to a district and their evaluation system. I want to make sure I am prepared as possible, so that means some extra careful lesson planning.
Since I married such a wonderful man, Rob got me out of the apartment this morning for a solid 6.31 mile hike. We went to Deer Creek Canyon Park, at the suggestion of Heather.
It was a beautiful morning and our summit hike provided us some lovely views of the city and the vast Colorado plains.
It was the stress relief I needed. However, when we got back, my to do list was staring at me and it was back to reality. Needless to say, I am really looking forward to Thanksgiving break!

One thing at a time 🙂
Thank you. I’m not good at remembering that.
Don’t I know it! I have to make a list each day, then I mark it off as I go. 🙂 paula
I love that even with all you had to do you started the day with a hike with your husband!!! When I start feeling overwhelmed, I make a list and put everything on it (no matter how small), every item I get to mark off makes me feel better!!!
Good luck – I hope you got everything done and have a great week at school!
Thank you, Kim. I am a list girl myself, but today for everything I crossed off, another was added.
You will do great!
At least you were able to get some fresh air!
You will rock it this week! 🙂
Thank you!
Hiking (or sometimes just walking outside and looking at the mountains) is the best stress reliever ever! And Thanksgiving cannot come soon enough.
It’s truly amazing how much better nature can make me feel.
I was really feeling stressed this morning when I was staring at my list and adding more to it. By the afternoon I realized that I needed a reality check and went for a trail run. This was the best decision ever. After that I had a bird bath before a meeting I ran at work for undergrad tutors. When I got home I spent some QT with Jillian.
Honestly, as I get older, though I do get stressed (don’t get me wrong) it is easier (not easy, but easier) to push certain things to tomorrow and to rest in my imperfection.
I like this. Thank you.
