Warm Up & Cool Down Plan

Before completing any workout, you need to warm up to help slowly increase your heart rate, increase blood flow to your muscles, and generally prepare for more strenuous physical activity.

In addition, cooling down after you workout benefits your body to gradually return your heart rate back to normal and remove any lactic acid from your legs to help prevent soreness.

As a Health Coach and Personal Trainer, I get a lot of questions about what clients should do for a warm up. In addition to a light 5-10 minutes of cardio, I recommend some specific dynamic stretching moves to warm up the joints, back, and neck.

These dynamic stretches will help you prevent injury and get your body ready for the more intensive movements of your workout. With this warm up and cool down cheat sheet, you can save it on your phone, or print it and take it to the gym with you. It is an excellent resource to have on hand!
