While I love the work I do as a Health Coach and the positive, goal-reaching effect it can have on people, sometimes clients just want to feel good in their skin immediately. They do not want to wait the full 6-12 weeks it often takes to create healthy habits or to start feeling good in their skin.
This list of 30 things you can do right now to feel better about your body are just temporary physical, mental, and food related items you can implement if you need a quick body positivity boost. Many of these are also items I recommend my clients use throughout our time working together, though we do implement more mindset work and specific nutrition habits specific to each individual client.
All of these items will take five minutes or less, so you can start feeling better in your skin quickly and then get back to whatever it is you were doing.

I think posture is everything – as silly as it sounds! I do find that that little shift makes a difference.
Also water! Easier said then done but when I do drink more, I find that my body is running on all cylinders.
Music is life for me! It’s always on! Right now Kesha’s new CD is my everything!
Posture and water can be so powerful! I don’t listen to a lot of Kesha. I will need to check her out.
Water is an incredible source of energy. I love when clients are finally drinking the water they need and they realize how amazing they feel.
These are great pick me ups. Some people under estimate the power of a walk or deep breathing. I can’t wait for my broken toe to heal so i can get back to it.
How did you break your toe? How much longer are you out of commission?
I have been working out consistently and food journaling for the last 9 weeks and I gotta say – I feel better than ever before!
I am so glad to hear that! Being consistent and putting things down in print can be extremely eye opening. I am so happy to hear that it is working out for you!
Oh my gosh, so many of these I love! I try to get up and walk around the office and I also try to get outside at least once during the day for fresh air. If I don’t do those things I definitely notice a shift in my mood. Now I’m going to go drink some water – thanks for the reminder 🙂
It is amazing how much they can effect us. Water is a big issue for so many of us. It is amazing how much our bodies actually crave and need.
Awesome tips. My husband and I just walked 6.5 miles today and it felt amazing! I definitely plan to do this more often.
Well done! That is a solid distance!
Thank you for this lovely tips Brooke. We need to become a part of positive activities and experiences that make us feel good about who we are, and avoid the negative ones that inspire self-hatred and diminish our self-esteem. All these things are essential to building not just physical self-esteem, but psychological and spiritual self-worth as well. Modern society presents women with a plethora of choices and life options. With this newfound freedom comes the pressure to succeed, to compete, and to be as attractive and as appealing as the next woman. Therein lays the rub. Women are now constantly subjected to fabricated notions of ideal beauty and bombarded with media images of the perfect body. Just one look at newsstand magazines and women’s grooming products commercials supports this. Eating disorders and psychological trauma are running rampant as women try to achieve these unrealistic standards. Many end up suffering psychological trauma (low self esteem, depression, social isolation), and life-threatening eating disorders (bulimia, anorexia, yo-yo dieting). And while there is nothing wrong with wanting to look one’s best, it needs to be up to the individual to decide what that ‘best’ actually is.
Cheers then
I completely agree with you. So many women are suffering from trauma because of the unrealistic ideals that are put on them through the media. My goal is not to look like a model, or to get my clients to be skinny, but to get them to feel good in their skin and to put quality foods into their body as often as is sustainable. Healthy food and intentional movement can be so powerful in avoiding (and possibly reversing) the trauma.
I love this list! I took three deep breaths while reading it! I’m also going to walk around a bit, and find some new workouts on Pinterest. Thank you for the inspiration!
You are welcome! Thank you for trying them out!
I’m working on so many of these things in my life right now. I especially have been working on taking deep breaths. I realized that’s something I rarely do, and it makes such a difference.
Deep breaths really do have incredible power. Especially when we are feeling overworked or stressed.
Oh, I love this list… so many good ones…
Sit up straight… drink a glass of water… come up with a positive mantra (powerful!)
I am glad you like it!
