These Make Ahead Freezer Breakfast Burritos come together quickly, providing an easy, spicy, grab-and-go breakfast as you run out the door.
One of the first items on my list of freezer recipes to make before Zoey arrived was breakfast burritos. First of all, I love breakfast burritos. It’s the one thing I crave after a late night, or if I want to treat myself before work, or if it’s cold outside in the morning. Really, any excuse I can make to have one, I will.
The second reason I wanted to make them for Zoey’s arrival was because they are the ideal food to eat if you are carrying around a newborn. You can eat them one handed, wrapped in a paper towel, and not have to worry about needing a fork or sitting down to eat. Honestly, who has time to sit down and eat a proper breakfast anymore newborn or not?
A one-handed option is also ideal for those who just need to grab something quickly in the morning and zip out the door. These Make Ahead Freezer Breakfast Burritos are quick and easy to heat up so you can take one with you when you leave in the morning.
To freeze these bad boys, I highly recommend you individually wrap each one in Saran wrap and freeze them flat on a cookie sheet. Then you can put them all together in a plastic bag. Make sure you write the date you made them, how to reheat, and what they they are on the plastic bag, otherwise you might end up with some mystery freezer foods.
The recipe I detail here is what I prefer in my breakfast burritos, but you can really make it your own. If you are opting for the more healthy route, definitely go with the turkey bacon. Rob scoffs at me when I use it, but I am not picky about the difference. A quality whole wheat tortilla is best also. Just be sure to check the sugar labels as tortillas are one of those sneaky, sugar-added foods.
With breakfast being such an important way to start your day, I would rather see you prepping these Make Ahead Freezer Breakfast Burritos than skipping your morning meal all together. Even if you do not wake up hungry, like me, you can bring one of these with you to work and heat it up shortly after you get there. I usually microwave it for two minutes on one side, then about a minute on the other side. Be sure to take off the Saran wrap before you nuke it!
What is your favorite grab-and-go breakfast?

I have never made any freezer breakfast meals before but I often kick myself when I’m running super late and never have anything to eat. I really should make something like this. These look super delish and easy to make too! These would be great for when my son starts school. He loves burritos!
These look so good! I love anything I can make ahead and grab on the go!
Same! It just makes things so much easier, especially when the morning or day gets away from you.
Yum! I have never actually tried this but I know my sister does this and swears by it as one of her favorite easy go-to breakfasts!
Your sister is certainly onto something!
I love how easy these look to make. I’m often doing so many things in the morning that I don’t have time to make myself breakfast, but this would be so fast to microwave! I also think they would be great for lunch or dinner.
Mornings are so incredibly hectic, aren’t they? These help a ton. And you can eat them one-handed.
Yummy!! I’ve made big batches of breakfast burritos for Jason so he can grab and go in the morning. Never thought to freeze them. Thanks
Definitely give it a try! Then you make an even bigger batch if you’re making them.
I’ve made these before, and they are definitely a keeper. So handy to just grab and go in the morning! Also handy for when we got camping because we can just wrap them in tinfoil and reheat over the fire. Thanks for sharing!
Yes! I love them for camping too. So easy to just heat up on those chilly mornings.
Those breakfast burritos look so good!
