It took me a while to learn how to cook.
Coming off of a college meal plan, I knew how to make exactly two things that I thought were a complete claim to fame:
- Pasta with a drained can of lentil soup on top.
- Cubed chicken in a fry pan with pasta.
Sense a theme here?
I used to spend an hour or more in the grocery store wandering through every aisle to find things I might be able to make a meal with.
I would throw random things into my basket, spend more money than I needed to, and hope for the best.
Half of the food I bought would end up in the trash because I just did not know what to do with it and I would buy way too much.
It was not until I finally started taking back my health and joined a food co-op that I started to take a more vested interest in my meals and spend time learning how to cook more than just pasta dishes.
I started planning more nutritious meals because otherwise all those food co-op fruits and vegetables would go to waste.
Not only was I able to increase my repertoire of meals, but I felt healthier and was saving money at the grocery store by not buying things I did not need or throwing out things I did not use.
I want you to experience the same thing.
