Hydration is so important not only for your daily life, but for when you’re living an active lifestyle. Many of my clients complain about not liking water either because they don’t like the taste, or they don’t find the time to drink it. While I was eating lunch at Panera yesterday, I actually overhead a woman on her way out say, “I wish I liked water.”
The bad news is that regardless of whether you like it or not, you still need water for your body to function properly. The good news is there are some delicious ways to stay hydrated. Which means you have no excuse to not be getting your recommended ounces!
Flavor your water – I’ve mentioned this before, but a quick squeeze of lemon or lime, or a sprig of mint can completely change how much liquid you guzzle. Adding frozen fruit adds flavor and keeps your water cold.
Try coconut water – This may be an acquired taste for some, but with all the electrolytes and potassium, it rivals sports drinks and doesn’t taste like regular water. Viva Coco Pure is on the top shelf in the Walmart beverage section if you’re looking to try it! Ibotta is offering a coupon so you have no excuses to give it a shot.
Eat more water-based fruits and vegetables – Foods like melons, cucumbers, and lettuce are mostly water, meaning munching on them can keep you hydrated and avoiding the water situation almost entirely.
Try Snapple teas – The all natural Snapple Straight Up Tea and the Diet Peach Snapple are both tasty, natural, and an easy way to stay hydrated while drinking something delicious.
If you go for the Snapple Straight Up Tea, get the unsweetened version as it contains no added sugars.
You can find both teas in the coolers by the checkout lanes in Walmart and use this coupon for 50 cents off when you buy one other Snapple product. You can print that coupon here as well.
Add ice – When the ice melts in your drink, you’re getting in some extra hydration that is flavored like whatever you were drinking. This is a great trick when drinking coffee or tea!
Pour some bottled water – I’ve always loved Fiji water because I actually think it tastes fresher than other bottled waters. And while I usually drink water from the tap, if you’re struggling getting in your ounces, then a good bottled water can be a game changer.
Drink seltzer water – Not only does the carbonation make you feel a little more satisfied, but many seltzers are simply just bubbly, flavored water with no additives. Worth it!
Cut juices with water – First, make sure your juices are mostly natural and have a low sugar content. Then, cut them with water! You’ll still get the flavor and be hydrated. One of my favorite combos is orange juice with a dash of seltzer.

These are great suggestions! I love to add cucumber and mint to water; it really enhances the flavor and encourages me to drink more! #client
