Happy Friday! I hope you’re ready for another Virtual Happy Hour post!
Virtual Happy Hour posts are basically an update on the week, thoughts kicking around, and whatever else is happening life at the moment. So, pull up a cocktail (if it’s an appropriate hour), and enjoy some chat with me!
If we were at happy hour, I would tell you that for the last 6 weeks, Friday’s haven’t been a huge deal for me because I’ve been on summer break. Now that I’m wrapping up my first week teaching, I’m back on the “Hoorary! It’s Friday!” train. How is your Friday going so far?
If we were at happy hour, I would tell you that Rob and I are taking an impromptu camping trip this weekend. With Rob’s new work schedule (real estate), we didn’t have a chance to get away this summer for a road trip like we usually do. It will be a one night, very quick trip, but we’re both really looking forward to sleeping in the woods. When was the last time you were able to get away?
If we were at happy hour, I would tell you that the start of the school year is going decently. I have a few knuckleheads, as happens every year, but overall things are going well. I love being an interventionist for the small classes. My AVID class is so large, though, that I need to find two more desks! I just had a couple kids transfer in and now I don’t have a place to seat them. They’ll have to share seats today until I can find some. What’s new with your work?
If we were at happy hour, I would tell you that I haven’t been able to workout this week because my ankle has been giving me issues. I remember rolling it during Chase the Moon, but didn’t think anything of it. Turns out, I haven’t been able to walk or stand on it for too long all week without some serious pain. Not good when you’re a teacher! Apparently that roll was more intense than I thought. How has your fitness life been treating you this week?

Happy Hour! I’d want to talk about how crazy I feel for wanting to put my kids in ANOTHER new daycare (this will be childcare #4 for 2015). While this one seemed too good to be true it turned out it was. I guess time really does tell. UGH. I hate looking for daycare. I hate disappointing the person we are leaving, I hate the trepidation that comes with a new place. I hate the feeling of barging into a new provider’s life even if they are used to “putting it all out there”.
You should make time to have that ankle checked! It could be more serious than a “roll” and you don’t want it to develop into anything too serious!! xxm
