Can you believe August is upon us already? I feel like the summer just barely started and here we are staring down the tunnel to Fall and the start of a new school year. Insane!

With a new month, comes a new fitness challenge! Since you know I love plyos, and ab moves are an excellent confidence booster (because spot training is not scientifically proven and abs are mostly made in the kitchen), this month’s challenge combines both ploys and abs! It’s a similar style to last month, but I liked it so I’m going with it again.


Plyo-Ab Challenge (August 2014)

If you’re planning to attempt this challenge, remember to modify the moves as needed. I want you to especially be mindful of your knees; plyos are not easy on them. Step through the jumps if you need to!

Some links to the moves if you need them. It seems like a lot at first, but once you learn them, you are good to go for the rest of the month.

In addition to fitness challenges, here is what I’m looking forward to this August:

  • Jackie and Tom’s Wedding! (Aug 1)
  • Jackie’s Birthday – we are Irish twins (Aug 2)
  • First day with students (August 5)
  • Reset Burn begins
  • Cross Country starts (I am head coach)
  • First Cross Country meet (They will only have practiced 2 weeks. Fingers crossed!)
